This movie is one of my favorites. I am a fan of Bruce Lee, the person and the movie star. Most people have a misconception of Bruce Lee since he became famous for his Kung Fu movies but truth is, he was a genius and a family man. This movie would be listed more as a drama/love story and not what most would expect. Jason Scott Lee was born to play this part and they producers consulted with Bruce's wife for input (from what I remember reading).

The highly profiled and largely adored karate action hero Bruce Lee is brought to vivid life through the amazingly talented actor Jason Scott Lee (no relation) who pays homage to the man by not merely imitating him, but somehow mystically channeling his energy and letting his flawless physique become a conduit for the Master's unique brand of self-discipline & martial arts. The storyline of the film itself falls into traps of most Hollywood-ized biopics, but producer/director Rob Cohen tries a new spin by framing all the elements of the rags-to-riches plot with one of a looming fate which Lee's father believed cursed many generations. Indeed this film premiered after the shocking, untimely death of Lee's own son Brandon Lee who died after an accidental shooting during the filming of his movie THE CROW. Vivid and bold, this very entertaining, heartwarming story of a young man who conquered many barriers to escape some of his own demons is a true testament to courage of the human spirit
